On June 25, 2002, Professor Jack Froom, of the Department of Family Medicine, State University of New York, at Stony Brook, passed away. Readers of this column may remember Jack as the founding serial editor of ‘Selections from Current Literature’. Dr Froom, however, was known, revered and loved for a diverse number of intellectual, social, clinical and academic pursuits.
