I am a former difficult patient, and I am working to help bridge the communication gap between doctors and their difficult patients. All of the articles that I have found online are written by doctors for doctors. Perhaps hearing the story of a difficult patient "straight from the horses mouth" will help some physicians relate better in a similar situation. I prefer to remain anonymous not only to protect myself and my family, but also to protect my former doctor's identity and the identity of his organization. After all, this isn't written to bash, blame, or provide gossip. I sincerely hope that my story will help:
