Re: European primary care research

In their article highlighting issues related to research accross europe, Dean et al recommend establishing a research network of interested GPs.(1) A number of such networks are active, and in particular, the European General Practice Research Network is worth knowing about. Established in 1974, it holds two research meetings per year, and has national representatives listed for 30 countries. It co-ordinates and funds collaborative research. Details are available on www.egprn.org. Existing research networks can be helpful in initiating international studies. Yours Faithfully Rupert Jones
